Three Reasons I Will Not Be Seeing The Doctor Strange Movie

In November of this year Marvel will be releasing another movie, this one about the “Sorcerer Supreme” Doctor Strange. Marvel created Doctor Strange in 1963 to be one of their comic book heroes.

Many, many, people (myself included) are HUGE fans of Marvel and the near infinite number of epic heroes they have produced: the Avengers, Daredevil, the Fantastic Four, Spider-Man…. Marvel‘s masterminded genius has succeeded in creating a whole fantastical universe that people have been happily losing themselves  in for more than 65 years now. Catholics like myself have even been spiritually uplifted by the Christ-like  virtue and self-sacrifice exhibited in many of Marvel’s heroes that remind us of the beautiful calling of the Scriptures: “No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” “learn to do good. Make justice your aim: redress the wronged, hear the orphan’s plea, defend the widow.”…

Discerned Out

Hey guys!  Just a brief post to let you know that I’ve discerned out.  The community and I weren’t as good a match as I at first thought and my soul’s charisms have been changing a lot in recent years (I guess that’s just part of growing up.) so I finally concluded that I am not, after all, called to a monastic Order.  I have not yet given up on Religious Life, but I’m going to just enjoy being a lay person for now and try not to rush into anything.  Thank you for your prayers!
